One of our favorite trees here on the farm where we plant it to use as a living trellis for our grape and kiwi vines, as well as living fence posts around our garden fencelines. Very fast growing powerful nitrogen fixing trees have beautiful white flowers in the spring that make a good light honey. When coppiced the wood makes excellent strong highly rot resistant poles used as fence posts and trellises, etc. Also used as a high BTU firewood, it can be cut every 1 to 5 years depending on the diameter of wood desired. Our goats are very fond of its branches which make a very nutritious feed for them in moderate amounts. Easy to start from seed. Very drought tolerant and hardy zones 3-9.
